We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician Instructor (Part-Time/Adjunct) to join our
Skilled Trades faculty. Are you an experienced electrician who enjoys sharing your knowledge, mentoring others, and giving back to your profession? This is an excellent opportunity to bring your real-world industry experience into the classroom and help prepare the next generation of skilled electrical
professionals. Previous teaching experience is welcome but not required.

The Electrical Technician program introduces students to foundational concepts in residential and commercial wiring. With a strong emphasis on safety and code compliance, students gain hands-on experience installing circuits, switches, conductors, circuit breakers, and other electrical components. The program emphasizes workplace safety, industry standards, and electrical code compliance to help prepare students for today's workforce.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum five years of professional electrical field experience required
• Strong knowledge of residential and commercial wiring, electrical systems, and installation practices
• Demonstrated understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and industry best practices
• Ability to effectively communicate electrical theory and demonstrate practical applications
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Passion for mentoring students and supporting their academic and career success
• Previous teaching, training, or mentoring experience preferred, but not required
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Google Workspace, database applications, and internet-based tools
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills with attention to detail
• Dependable, punctual, professional, ethical, and committed to working collaboratively
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information and institutional records
• Flexibility to accommodate varying instructional schedules, including earlier or later
  shifts and occasional weekends, as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver engaging classroom lectures and hands-on laboratory instruction in accordance with the approved curriculum
• Follow established course outlines, instructional objectives, and evaluation standards
• Develop and maintain lesson plans, instructional materials, and required academic documentation
• Monitor and accurately document student attendance, academic progress, and retention
• Evaluate student assignments and provide constructive feedback within 48 hours
• Offer academic guidance and support during scheduled office hours or by appointment
• Advise students on academic performance, progress, and applicable institutional policies
• Maintain regular communication with academic leadership, including the Lead Instructor,
  Program Chair, Academic Dean, and/or Campus President
• Maintain a safe, organized laboratory environment and monitor equipment, tools, and supply inventory
• Identify and obtain instructional materials and supplies needed to support classroom and
  laboratory activities
• Participate in required professional development and training, including AHED online
  training and Foundations of Teaching modules, to support instructional effectiveness and
  accreditation requirements
• Provide substitute instructional coverage and perform additional duties as needed

Schedule: Flexible / Part-Time / Adjunct

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
