Electrical Tech Instructor – Adjunct

We are currently seeking a Part-Time/Adjunct Electrical Technician Instructor to join our skilled trades faculty.

Program Overview:

The Electrical Technician program introduces students to foundational concepts in residential and commercial wiring. With a strong emphasis on safety and code compliance, students gain hands-on experience installing circuits, switches, conductors, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five (5) years of professional electrical field experience required
  • Demonstrated expertise in:
  • Residential and commercial wiring;
  • Code compliance and safety standards;
  • Hands-on installation practices;
  • Ability to effectively demonstrate electrical theory and practical application.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student success and workforce readiness.
  • Previous teaching experience preferred, but not required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), database software, Google docs, and use of internet.
  • Must be punctual, responsible, organized, ethical and a team player.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and communication (written and verbal) skills is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be professional and maintain confidentiality of employee information and campus records.
  • Must be flexible to work earlier or later shifts or weekends as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver lecture and hands-on laboratory instruction aligned with the approved curriculum.
  • Follow established course outlines, objectives, and evaluation standards.
  • Develop and maintain daily lesson plans and instructional documentation.
  • Monitor and document student attendance and retention.
  • Grade assignments and provide feedback within 48 hours.
  • Provide academic support during scheduled office hours or by appointment.
  • Advise students regarding academic performance and institutional policies.
  • Maintain communication with academic leadership (Lead Instructor, Program Chair, Academic Dean, or Campus President).
  • Monitor laboratory equipment, tools, and supply inventory.
  • Secure instructional materials and supplies as needed.
  • Participate in professional development to maintain accreditation standards, including required AHED online training and Foundations of Teaching modules.
  • Substitute for other instructors when necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Compensation & Benefits:

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
