Stephen Tave, AHED member since 2008, brings 30+ years in private post-secondary education. Former President at NYC schools and Director at Art Institute. Co-owner and VP at Institute of Culinary Education, established nationally recognized career program with 30,000+ students yearly. Active in CCA committees. Brooklyn College psychology graduate.
Drew Emmerling, AHED member since July 2016, brings 25+ years of financial management experience. His roles include 8 years as CFO, 3 years as Regional Controller, and 9 years in financial analyst positions at a Fortune 500 bank. He holds a BS in Economics and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.
Dean Bartness is Chief Compliance Officer, responsible for institutional and programmatic accreditation. He brings over 25 years of higher education experience, focusing on compliance, accreditation management, and regulatory strategy to support organizational performance, student outcomes, and adherence to federal and state requirements.
Shari Davis, Senior Vice President of Student & Career Services, brings over 20 years of education leadership including multi-site operations. Since joining AHED in 2022, she has focused on expanding campus and online services, developing online divisions, and implementing consistent workflows that support the full student lifecycle across all locations.
Rachelle McNeely, Senior Vice President of Registrars, brings 20+ years in higher education. She previously served as Campus Director and Registrar at Stautzenberger College–Brecksville. With a BA in Business Management from Hiram College, she specializes in accreditation, regulatory compliance, academic records, and multi-campus administrative leadership.
Stephanie Showalter is the Senior Vice President of Student Financial Services, bringing over 15 years of experience in financial aid, compliance, and student support. She has led high-performing teams, ensured regulatory excellence, and improved student outcomes across institutions including the University of Pennsylvania and National University.
Ricky Romero, VP of Marketing & Communications, joined AHED in 2022. With more than 22 years of experience in private post-secondary education, Ricky brings extensive expertise in admissions, enrollment management, marketing strategy, financial aid, CRM development, and business growth. He oversees student acquisition, admissions systems, marketing initiatives, and systems optimization across the AHED family of brands.
Richard Simpson brings 40 years of education leadership to his role as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. Rising from Culinary Instructor to Director of Education and Vice President of Education, he now partners with leadership to drive institutional improvement, leverage technology, and enhance operations—all focused on improving student outcomes.
Ron Sealey, VP of Academic Affairs & Compliance, joined AHED in 2022. Ron brings 33+ years in higher education. His roles include 7 years in Housing & Residence Life and 26 years in private post-secondary education as Academic Dean, Campus President, Chief Academic Officer and VP of Academic Affairs & Compliance. He holds a M.Ed. in Higher Education from Clemson University.
Kathleen Lambert, Director of Human Resources, provides leadership with all aspects of Human Resources operations as a one-person department. Kathleen specializes in recruitment, benefits administration, and employment law and legal compliance ensuring regulatory compliance, attracting and fostering talent growth and optimizing employee performance across multi-state operations. Kathleen has a Master of Science in HR Management, SHRM-SCP and SPHR certifications, and has earned the AI+HI SHRM Specialty credential.
Tom Parker is Director of IT at American Higher Education Development Corp, leading enterprise technology strategy, modernization, and operations. With over 25 years of experience, he specializes in cybersecurity awareness, training, and practical safeguards, large-scale IT initiatives, and multi-campus infrastructure, partnering with teams to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient solutions.
Brian Niedzwiecki, AHED team member since 2015, with 12 years at Stautzenberger College, rising from Career Services to Vice President. Toledo native, EPIC Toledo chairman, “20 under 40” recipient. MA in College Student Personnel and BA in Social Humanitarianism from Bowling Green State University.
